Even though Heathkit (a historical player in the post-WWII “tinkerers” era) stopped making and selling kits back in 1992, it apparently just sold the copyrights on its old manuals to another company, which is now going around forcing any old manuals offline and demanding people buy them.

Last week, Electronic Arts finally released SimCity for the iPhone. Like Rolando, which came a day later, SimCity was an eagerly anticipated game with a lot of high expectations. On the surface, it looks fantastic. The graphic capabilities really shows off what the capacity of the iPhone is capable of and it’s very addicting.

2008 is nearing its end, time to make a list of the top 10 BitTorrent sites that got the most traffic this year. The Pirate Bay is out in the lead followed by Mininova and isoHunt. TorrentSpy shut down earlier this year and is the most notable absentee.

Speculation that Wal-Mart would sell a $99 iPhone was put to rest on Friday when the official announcement came out sans the double digits. However, all hope is not lost. AT&T is selling a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G in black for $99 with a two-year service contract through Wednesday, New Year’s Eve. That beats AT&T’s previous price tag of $149.
